I put a quick track in this morning as the sun was coming up. There was one food drop in a scent pad at 35 on leg 2. There was a new article on leg 3.
Saber was picture perfect. Good start. Although she decided to take the article part way down leg one with her. She pretty much stayed in my foot prints the entire track. Entered the woods without hesitation. Pivoted on the turn without over shooting it.
Exiting the woods she did choose to go right along the wood line but came back to the track without being asked or stopped. There were tracks there from Joanna because Rex got loose while I was putting the track in. So unintentional cross tracks?
Next turn was dead on. She did step off the track slightly to snack on deer poop. After being told that was not an approved snack she rolled her eyes and went right back to work. At the last turn she sniffed around but this is where Rex jumped on me and tried to steal the final article out of my hand. I think that was more interesting than she was actually checking alternative options. She finished strong and had a nice romp with final article.
As much as I dislike snow, I do enjoy tracking in it and so does Saber.
