Saber
I put in a short track from grass to asphalt, turned in the asphalt back to grass. There is an extra transition in there because of an access road.
It was getting warm and we have not tracked much lately, so I only let the track age about 20 minutes.
Saber had a good start. Slightly overshot her first turn but quickly corrected her self. I liked her transition into the road. I left treats, which she missed. There was an article on the island before heading into the parking lot. She missed searching for food drop. The article (with treats) and food drop were too close. She confidently entered the parking lot. I was not going to pull her back for a poorly placed article. She immediately made the turn in the parking lot then quickly started pinging off of visuals in the parking lot. She indicated her leather article, but needed help with a metal article . Once back on grass she made easy work of the end.
I saw several things that I liked.
Syd
Syd got 2 starts.
His first start was enthusiastic, but less focused than I would like. It took him 15-20 steps and a food drop to get focused on the track. I may try a couple of starts with food drops closer to the start or an early article drop to see if it helps him focus starting at the start flag. I did like his turn and his article indication.
His second track was a little calmer at the start. He overshot the turn but as soon as I backed up he immediately found and took the turn. He was pulling me left up the hill. Turns out he was right. Matt's track laying had a drift.
He was clearly spending time air scenting but I don't know if it was track related or other interest related.
