Saber's First TDX Attempt

I did not plan on entering Saber in a TDX test until the fall/winter of 2023. However the Colonial Rottweiler Specialty offered a test May 4th, 2023. I decided to enter to even though I think we are only 80% ready. We got into the test and made the trek to NJ.
Saber's start was beautiful. She made the first turn and gave me a perfect first article indication. Then got snagged by the first cross track. I could tell what was happening and tried to get her to drink water and rethink her decision. She was on a mission and having none of my nonsense. She almost backed up to the track but didn't quite make it. The judges gave her every chance and were very nice. Once I put her back on the track she was like a train on the tracks. The rest of her article indications were good and she didn't even give the second set of cross tracks a head nod.
She didn't pass, but I didn't tell her that. She was very pleased with herself and so was I!
Great job - she was tracking so beautifully in the video - you can see the track after the restart and she had all toes on that line! This reminds me of a quote from one of my favorite books our daughter was gifted (Rosie Revere, Engineer):
“Your brilliant first flop was a raging success! Come on, let's get busy and on to the next!" She handed a notebook to Rosie Revere, who smiled at her aunt as it all became clear. Life might have its failures, but this was not it. The only true failure can come if you quit.”
That is an awesome first attempt. Any dog who starts and makes the first turn proves they have a right to be there! Well done Kelly & Saber Sue!
