Length: 255 yds

Age: 45 min

I put a quick track in this morning at Hanover Wayside park. I figured with the VST trial this weekend I wouldn't have time to track. I didn't have much time for it to age because work really runs my fun and I got a slower start than anticipated this morning.

The track was short.

  • Leg 1: 65 yards. Open left.

  • Leg 2: 120 yards. crossed the pathed road into the woods. Food drop just past the asphalt.

  • Leg 3: 70 yards. Deep leaf cover, grass past a picnic table, across a gravel walkway, back into deep leaf cover.

Start was good. Slightly overshot the first turn but corrected. Crossed the road no problem. Was very happy to find a piece of cheese. The woods entrance was stepping down. Fortunately she stopped for the cheese so she didn't drag me down the incline. The rest of the track was picture perfect.

Saber thought this was easy and had fun.

I will probably use this location again. It is not large, but it usually isn't busy either. Especially early and when its cold. There are bridges and creeks to cross.

I love this site—so many options! It’s small for sure, but for training….short, offer the challenge, and be done is a good strategy.

Could you put it in early and run at lunch? While a rare 45” old track is great for motivation….in the end, when she’s test ready, you’d like 3 hours to be your motivational age.
