Saber

Location: Greenwood ES

Weather: 54 Sunny, N 7mph wind

Time Run: 9:00 Am, Age: 40 minutes

Length 400 yards

I started working transitions back into our work with concrete. I also added about 10 minutes of age. I did not love Saber's work on this track. She had a good start. She checked out and dismissed some of the kids endless fodder on the play ground. Seriously, those kids must go home naked and thirsty. She made the first couple of turns without issue. I don't know if the food on the concrete after the first turn drew her into the turn or she made the turn and found it. I would have put it further past the turn but it was a short segment due to the layout.

I ended up having to go through a gate that was open when I put the track in but had blown closed when we ran the track. Clearly, I had to open it to get to the other side. I do wonder if she was guessing more than really knowing. There were a few places on the track that I limited her options until she picked the correct one. She tracked down the side walk well. The leather article blew off the track. I helped her with that one. Her turn off the side walk into the grass right over a sewer opening was pretty good.

She got the 3rd article unassisted. Curving around to the last leg was ok. Overall this track did not wow me. I don't know if it was the wind or me feeling rushed, but I thought Saber did more guessing than confident tracking. This track was a little longer that what she has been doing as well. My next track I will go back to 30 minutes and hopefully follow it the next day with a 45 minute track.
