Location: Holly Ridge

Weather: 57 Sunny, Wind 10-17 mph from SW. Humidity 32%

Cover: Grass

Run Time: 10:45 Am

Age: About an hour

Length: 100 yds

Track Design:

3 turns

Scent Pads at 30 and 60 on the first 200 yds

Scent Pads at 30 and 60 on 300 and 400 yds

Scent pads at 25, 50 , & 75 on 500 and 600 yds

Scent pads every 25 after 600.

Saber had a good start and first 2 turns. She started getting tired about 650 yards in. There was significant increase in her trying to explore things other than the track. The scent pads would bring her back in. Water usually helps her refocus and get back in the game, but this time it really didn't. She really struggled on the last turn but got it done. About 5-10 yards before the end she was ready to quit and started eating grass. I gave her an assist and encouraged her to keep going. At the end she got rewarded at the article and then her squeaky ball a few more yards.

Notes

  1. 15 minute mark you can see Saber starting to tire and meander

  2. At the end you can see her ready to stop.

SUPER helpful to know that she goes exploring when tired (& probably when frustrated). Such great information!!! Now when she goes exploring, it’s information that will allow you to make adjustments. Fantastic!!
