Both dogs got an article track to warm up today. Saber's aged about 25 minutes while we were working Syd. She was a little slow to start focusing but got into.
My main focus today was transitions. Since we did age yesterday and it was hard, I wanted less age today. She transitioned several times between grass and brick. I was very happy with her first turn. She checked left and decided it did not go that way. You could see her confidence wane a little as she made her way down the brick. I think I had the food drop in just the right place after the building entrance. Her next turn was ok but not fantastic. I limited how much I let her go past the turn. Leg three I walked right at the edge of the brick sidewalk and the grass. This leg was a struggle for her. She really wanted to go out in the parking lot.
After the article I held her truer to the track. I did not want her to continue to make the same mistakes. She made the next turn without issue. The brick driveway she was searching around even with the food drops. Again I limited the exploring allowed. She finished fine.

Syd is stronger than he looks. I picked the courthouse today because for an urban setting they have a field with decent grass. He warmed up with an article track. It wasn't perfect but he got the gist toward the end.
For his 3 start tracks there were moments that were really good and moments of ADD. The first start took 2 tries. Then he was tracking to the right. The food drop midway down pulled him back to the actually track and it got much better from there. I may try some sent pad 5, 10, 15, 20 to see if cant get a better start. Once he got on the track he made a nice turn. The second start was decent and another good turn. The third one pulled him into the ditch after the turn but it made sense with the wind.
