Saber
Location: Holly Ridge
Weather: 41 degrees, WNW winds 11-19mph
Cover: Melting snow/grass
Time in: 10:20 Am
Age: 5 hours
Track design: stair step with seven 60 yd legs. Two intermediary articles and one food drop on the second to last leg.
Video:
My plan was let it age 3-4 hours but we got busy doing thing so it ended up being five hours. Saber worked it out. The first leg had mostly melted and she started ok but was not strong in that leg or the first turn. Once she hit the snow it was much easier for her. She did miss one article, which I also missed and had to go back and get. It was a metal fork.
I didn’t think about the challenge of melting snow but I thought she handled it well.
Syd
Location: Holly Ridge
Weather: 34 degrees, W winds 4 mph
Cover: Snow over grass
Time in: 10:20 AM
Age: 1 hour
Track design: stair step with 5 legs (Matt forgot what he was doing). Food every other leg. It was suppose to be starting on leg one be he started on leg two so it was the even legs. Start and end articles.
Video:
Syd did really well! He was focused, nose down and on the job. He found all of his food drops. He made each turn perfectly which is a huge improvement over a couple of days ago! His article indication was good.
I planned on running his track at 45 minutes but it ended up being an hour. This is the longest and oldest track he has completed. He even wanted to track Matt out of the field to find more prizes!
I was very happy with how well he did today!
